Proposed Changes to the Constitution
The following changes are being proposed to the constitution at the Sept 2009 AGM.
Please review and send any comments/changes/additions to Christine Mavin.
These changes may be adjusted based on feedback received.
Additional Job Descriptions
the Jersey Manager shall:
a) procure game jerseys and first aid kits as directed by the Executive Committee;
b) keep an inventory of all jerseys, first aid kits and other supplies;
c) ensure that all teams of the Association have appropriate jerseys to enable them to conduct games;
d) bring to the attention of the Executive Committee the need to order additional jerseys;
e) Facilitate the return of jerseys at the end of the season;
f) Determine jerseys that are damaged or not returned, and notify the treasurer of any jersey deposits that are to be cashed
The Head Manager shall:
a) Liaise with all team managers, providing documentation and assistance as required.
b) Arrange for Association Team and Player photos; scheduling the photo session and distributing photos to team managers;
c) Institute and facilitate managers clinics to ensure all managers are aware of their responsibilities and rights;
The Risk Manager shall:
a) Identify and bring to the attention of the Executive any risks that may affect the association or its participants;
b) Implement policy changes where these may mitigate risks to the Association or its participants;
c) Ensure all volunteers successfully pass a criminal record check each year before they are placed in a position of trust with minors; and
d) perform other related duties, as required.
The Director of Gaming shall:
a) Assist with the Treasurer’s duties under the direction of the treasurer with respect to the gaming account.
b) Apply for Gaming monies on behalf of Juan de Fuca Lacrosse.
c) Complete all relevant summary event reports and year end summary reports.
d) Apply for all association event gaming licenses.
e) Ensure all teams are adhering to Gaming guidelines.
f ) Assist team applications for various licenses, including 50/50 draws, raffles, etc., and maintain association policies on these matters
g) Update the proposed budget with respect to gaming, for inclusion with gaming application
h) perform other related duties, as required.
The Director of Senior Operations shall:

Changes to Existing Job Descriptions
The Tournament Coordinator shall: (replace with the following)
a) chair the committee(s) responsible for Association tournaments;
b) liaise with the floor allocator to obtain floor-time for the Association tournaments;
c) procure tournament awards, souvenirs, refreshments
d) liaise with the referee allocator to obtain referees for Association tournaments;
e) arrange for volunteer coverage, and manage all tournament volunteers
f) register the tournaments with BCLA
g) manage team registration into the tournaments;
h) manage all communications with teams entered in the tournaments;
i) arrange for vendors present at the tournaments, such as photographers, fastest shot, barbeque, concessions;
j) perform other related duties, as required.
The Sponsorship Coordinator shall (add the following to the existing description):
h) procure, inventory and distribute sponsor bars for jerseys;
The Publicity Coordinator shall (add the following to the existing description):
f) Manage and maintain the Association Website
The Treasurer shall (add the following to the existing description):
h) Manage and distribute referee payments
The Referee Allocator shall (add the following to the existing description):
a) Collect money for referee clinics.
b) Allocate referees for the JdF tournaments.
c) Allocate shot clock referees for the intermediate B games.
