Games:
Similarly to last season, as mandated by BCLA the season will have self-scheduled games for 2026-27.
Try outs: U11-U18:
U11-U18 teams will be “tiered” similarly to last season. Try out fees will be $40 and will occur the second week of September with the goal of completing them that same week.
U18:
Having reviewed the feedback from U18 families, it is clear that most U18 players are balancing many other commitments. As such, U18 Coed fees have been reduced and they will have 8 league games, and 2 practices for sept/oct, going down to 1 practice for November onwards. Given there are less teams to play on the island, this should hopefully free up time for teams to play in more tournaments or arrange mainland games if they choose while balancing academy schedules. If teams are wishing to play more league games, they are welcome to and will just have to cover the cost.
Playing up: Requests for playing up a division for the season will not be considered. If there is an imbalance of players amongst age groups the association may approach families and ask if they are interested in playing up a division to balance rosters.
Late registration pricing: in order to plan for the season, registering in a timely manner is imperative. After August 20th fees will increase $50.

Female fees: Historically female fees have been deeply discounted to encourage registration and grow the game and costs had been subsidized by the association. As our numbers have grown, we have adjusted the female fees to cover more of their own costs.
U7 and U9 Female: We are gathering names to see if there will be enough players to form teams. Families will be contacted late August/Early September with more information.

BUDDY REQUESTS
Because teams will be tiered, buddy requests will only be accepted for U9 and younger.
Only one (1) request per player, requests must be noted in the comments section of the registration form in order to be considered. Do not email your buddy requests.
Players must have a matching request from the buddy being requested.
For example:
Ben Shooter requests Sam Brickwall to be his buddy > Sam Brickwall must request Ben Shooter to be his buddy as well, in order to be considered.
JDFLA will do their best to honour buddy requests but they are not guaranteed.
Absolutely no coaches requests will be accepted.
JDF TEAM SHORTS
Every JDF Lacrosse player will need a pair of JDF team shorts.
These shorts are part of the JDF Lacrosse Association’s uniform and will need to be purchased prior to the start of the season and worn at all league games. The option to purchase shorts will be available on the online registration page and will be handed out by team managers once teams have been set. Team shorts are $28.
Please note the shorts fit big. It is recommended to size down compared to regular clothing sizes.
Sponsorship does not cover payment of shorts. Please contact the Registrar to send payment.
REFUND POLICY
All refund requests/form must be submitted to the JDF Registrar at registrar@jdflacrosse.com
Full refund less a $50 Admin fee prior to Sept 1st if the player has not stepped onto the floor.
Full refund less a $50 Admin fee and $79 BCLA fee prior to Sept 1st if the player has stepped onto the field.
Full refund less $79 BCLA fee and a $50 Admin fee will be deducted if withdrawing between Sept 1st and Sept 20th regardless if the player has stepped on the field or not.
Refunds after Sept 20th are only for medical/injury reasons. Must be accompanied by a doctor’s note and will be considered on a case by case basis by the Executive.
