2024 Box Registration

Please note:       If you are a Billet student staying in the Westshore area, you must register with your Home Association and fill out a release form.  Please contact registrar@jdflacrosse.com for more information.

New Players must send a copy of your birth certificate and care card, as well as proof of residency. Mobile phone bills will no longer be accepted as proof of residency.

Your registration will not be complete until this is provided as it is now mandatory by BCLA,

Registration Fees are listed below which includes a $50 Fundraiser Fee per player (max. 2 per family) that can be earned back through the sale of raffle tickets. Female registration fee does not include fundraising fee.   For those applying for a funding assistance grant, please be sure to only request the Base Registration fee as that is all they will cover.  Families receiving funding assistance are still responsible for the fundraising fee and any extras such as shorts.

Registration can be paid via E-Transfer or Paypal.   All information regarding E-transfer such as the email address and answer to your secret question will be on your registration confirmation email receipt.  Please read carefully.  Your child will not be considered registered until the association receives your payment in full.  

If you are applying for a funding assistance grant, select the SPONSORSHIP payment option.   Parents are responsible for the $50.00 fundraising fee and the cost of shorts as these fees are not covered by your sponsorship.

Please note that the fees for each Female division are base fees determined by the host association, which will be the Victoria-Esquimalt Lacrosse Association.  However, the host association may ask for Fundraising fees, shorts fee etc. once teams are formed.

Female (only) information:   All of the Female Divisions are being hosted by the Victoria-Esquimalt Lacrosse Association (VELA). Registration fees will be paid at time of registration and can be paid directly to VELA - velacrossetreasurer@gmail.com .  The Female Division practices *may* be moved around between Victoria facilities.  If you have questions, please contact Dawn Ranns, VP Female Lacrosse at dawn.ranns@jdflacrosse.com .

 

OTHER FEES AND DEPOSITS

  • Sibling discount is $25 (Regular price for oldest child, $25 off for each additional child).  This excludes female box players.  Therefore, the female league players must be registered separately from their siblings.

When registering more than one child online please ensure you select the “add another player” button on the right side of the screen. All discounts will be added at the end.  Please note, discounts do not apply to Female Box Lacrosse players as they will be transferred to VELA. 

  • Jersey deposit - $200.00 (post dated cheque to be given to Team Manager before jerseys are handed out). You will receive two jerseys. You will receive your cheque back once the jerseys are returned in good condition at the end of the season.  If jerseys are not returned or are damaged, your cheque will be cashed.  
  • Late registration fee - additional $40 after April 1, 2024
  • N.S.F. cheque handling fee of $25.00

 

BUDDY REQUESTS

NEW FOR 2024:

Only one (1) request per player, requests must be noted in the comments section of the registration form. In order to be considered .

Players must have a matching request from the buddy being requested.

For example:
Ben Shooter requests Sam Brickwall to be his buddy > Sam Brickwall must request Ben Shooter to be his buddy as well, in order to be considered.

All buddy requests must be received prior to team formation or by the last day of assessments, whichever comes first.

JDFLA will do their best to honour buddy requests but they are not guaranteed.

Absolutely no coaches requests will be accepted.

 

JDF TEAM SHORTS

Every JDF Lacrosse player will need a pair of JDF team shorts. 

These shorts are part of the JDF Lacrosse Association’s uniform and will need to be purchased prior to the start of the season and worn at all league games.  The option to purchase shorts will be available on the online registration page and will be handed out by team managers once teams have been set.  Team shorts are $25.  If you are registering for Female Only Lacrosse shorts do not apply.

Please note the shorts fit big.  It is recommended to size down compared to regular clothing sizes.

Sponsorship does not cover payment of shorts.  Please contact the Registrar for payment.

 

ASSESSMENTS

All players in U13, U15, and U17 will have the opportunity to be assessed for A, B and/or C in their division if registered by January 18th 2024.  These assessments will be of no charge. Please go to the JDF Lacrosse website for assessment dates and information.

All players in the U11 division will be assessed to form balanced teams.  These assessments will be of no charge as well.  Please go to JDF Lacrosse website for assessment dates and information.

If you register after assessments are complete in your division, you will not be assessed but will be placed on a team that requires players.

WAIT LISTS

Apart from U7 and U9, the executive may implement a wait list prior to March 31 registration deadline to create even teams.

We encourage all players to register early to assist with accurate registration numbers for teams and to avoid being wait-listed.

 

REFUND POLICY

All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the JDF Registrar, Jean Gallagher at registrar@jdflacrosse.com.  A $50.00 processing fee will apply to all refunds.

  • Full refund less a $50 Admin fee prior to February 24th and have not attended any Assessments or Back to the Box sessions
  • Full refund less BCLA fee (TBC, was $46 in 2023) and a $50 Admin fee from February 25th to March 31 or if you have participated in any Assessments or Back to the Box sessions prior to February 24th.
  • Refunds after March 31 only for medical/injury reasons. Must be accompanied by a doctor’s note and will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Executive.
  • Please allow 30 days for processing.
  • Please complete the refund form (found on the JDF website) and email to registrar@jdflacrosse.com
